The Two Bali Airport Terminals
DPS Airport consists of two terminal buildings lying within walking distance of each other. Both terminals handle departures and arrivals. However, one terminal building is dedicated to domestic flights, whereas the other serves international arrivals and departures. Clean, modern, and passenger-friendly, the terminals are divided by Festival Plaza.
The Bali Airport Domestic Terminal
The DPS airport domestic terminal is actually the old terminal building, which underwent a massive renovation. Verily, it reopened its doors in 2014, being modern and new and having four times its previous size. It has eight gates and spreads over two floors.
Thus, the Ground level houses the Arrivals and the Departures. It is the floor that welcomes passengers once they land at Bali International Airport and houses the baggage claim zone as well. Moreover, it is also the Departures area, the level where the check-in counters are to be found. Please note that, although the vast majority of shops and eateries are located on the First floor (airside), a few dining and shopping options are situated at the Ground level too.
The DPS domestic terminal’s First floor is where the security checks take place and the domestic gates are. Expectantly, it also houses the Dury-free area along with a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and retail stores.
The Bali Airport International Terminal
The international terminal of Bali Indonesia Airport is the newest addition to the airport complex. Hence, it was delivered in 2013 and is regarded as an architectural masterpiece, fully reflecting the Balinese tradition. Indeed, its exterior is in total sync with the local architectural style, and its interior is elegantly adorned with Balinese decoration touches.
The international terminal of DPS Airport has one level and one mezzanine floor, which hosts the Garuda Indonesia Lounge. Hence, Arrivals and Departures are to be found on the same level. As a matter of fact, the terminal’s Ground floor is divided into two halls. The Departures hall has 62 check-in counters, a large Duty-free area, several stores and dining facilities, as well as 14 Gates. All gates are located relatively close to the terminal. Gates 1-3 lie within 5-6 minutes, and the furthest Gate 9 is located 12 minutes from the Bali airport terminal. The DPS international terminal has 10 jet bridges. Therefore, a shuttle bus serves the rest of the gates. Please note that Departures are split into different areas (ex. Departure A-B, Departure C-D, etc.). Thus, you should check which your Departure area is and proceed to the relevant check-in zone.
On the other hand, Arrivals are also located on the Ground floor. The Arrivals hall is separate from the Departures hall, but they lie adjacent to each other. Hence, the baggage claim area, the immigration, and customs are here.

The two Bali airport terminals are within close distance of each other. Hence, travelers who head from one terminal to the other pass through the array of souvenir stores, retail shops, cafes, and eateries that link the two DPS terminals.
